La participación de las mujeres en la Licenciatura de Matemáticas: una reflexión desde la UAEMéx
Keywords:

The low participation of women in STEM disciplines, particularly in the Mathematics degree, remains a major educational challenge. This issue is evident in the unequal distribution by sex across different university programs; while women are concentrated in Education, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, and Law, men predominate in Engineering, Information Technologies, Manufacturing, and Construction. Beyond constituting a form of exclusion, this situation generates educational, economic, and social repercussions by limiting diversity in the production of scientific knowledge and restricting women’s access to innovation processes and decision-making. Statistical data represent the first step in making these inequalities visible. In this context, the present article provides information focused on the Mathematics degree at UAEMéx, with the aim of highlighting the persistence of this educational issue.
